Grouse dog seminar Itinerary April 21-22

Friday afternoon – Evening arrival for those who want to come in early and be ready Saturday morning.

Saturday Seminar
begins – 9:00 AM

9:30 – 10:30 Dog evaluations looking at individual dogs to see their natural ability and degree of training.

11:15 -1PM Yard work, Obedience, Whoa training individual dogs, E-collar introduction

1-2 Lunch

2-3 finish Yard work obedience

3-5 Field work, bird work, handling drills. E-collar

6:pm hors de vors – social hour.

7 PM BBQ dinner

Sunday

7:30 Breakfast

8:30 – 10:00 Participants & dogs handling, obedience skills e-collar work

10:15 – 12:00 Field work, field handling, bird work, grouse covers.

Noon Lunch

1:00 – 3:00 Continued field work

3PM Depart.

Can’t judge a book by it’s cover, that’s for sure. What a voice, his confidence when singing is incredible. I’m not one to pass much of any internet stuff along to anyone, but this was just to moving and inspirational. Hope you enjoy it.

PCQ Quail Banquet – Dallas

Heading to Dallas March 6th for the Park City Quail Banquet (Rolling Plains Quail study). Invited by a long time friend Rick Snipes. Jim McCrank “Cranker” and I were planning to be in Lubbock Tx for an SCI show, so the timing was perfect.

I first met Rick many years ago hunting grouse with us, he’s a predator, a great story teller and just a great guy. He moved from Rock Hill SC to Aspermont TX, a few years ago and has developed his ranch as one of the best quail habitat ranches in TX, being awarded the T.Boone Pickens Conservationist award a couple years back.

It’ll be a great night! From there were heading to Lubbock, the SD, MT ranches are the real thing.
